Betty Liu, MD is a general surgery resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She has a passion for cooking, food, and photography and for years has been running her blog to share her food stories and create a community around food and photography. I actually first met Betty through one of her photography workshops when she was a medical student and soon learned of her aspirations to become a surgeon.
As a resident, she took her passions a step further and wrote and photographed a best-selling cookbook called "My Shanghai". This book is a journey through her family's native Shanghai and the food that reminds her of family and home. Not only are the photos gorgeous, but the recipes are approachable and delicious.
