Annika Divakar is an incoming PGY-1 General Surgery resident at Boston Medical Center. She was born in Worcester, MA and moved to different states in the US throughout her upbringing. She started podcasting in college at Rice University which is where she first got inspiration for her current podcast, The Invisible Coat.
Her inspiration came in the form of her end-of-life seminar professor who also was a resident artist at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. An interview with this professor sparked her interest in meeting people in the hospital with non-traditional roles, inquiring about their contributions to patient healing.
Annika also grew up as a piano player, violin player, and ballet dancer, later joining her college dance team. In medical school at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, she pursued a dual degree of MD/MA in Medical Humanities and Bioethics. All in all, she loves everything artsy and creative! Her podcast, the Invisible Coat, is available on her website, Spotify, Apple, and Google Podcasts.
If you have interest in being on her podcast, please reach out to her at theinvisiblecoat@gmail.com.
